How to Resolve HP Printer Error 0xc05d1281

Printers like other devices require proper upkeep and maintenance. There are a number of printer errors that can come up which can affect the daily routine of your office. One of those is the 0xc05d1281 code. The 0xc05d1281 error code usually means there is a problem with the ink system.

Hard Reset: First, unplug the power cord from the back of the printer and leave it unplugged for 30 seconds. Then, plug it back in. If possible, remove the ink cartridges during this process.

Check Print Head: If the error persists, your print head might be clogged, dirty, or faulty. If you can, take out the print head and clean it using a lint-free cloth and water.

Ensure Connectivity: Ensure your printer has direct connectivity to a wall outlet, not a surge protector.

Here are some specific steps you can take to fix the HP error code 0xc05d1281.

Step 1:

  • Select both the * and the # keys and then release them.
  • Now, enter the special key combo: Click the “1”, “2” and “3” keys in sequence.
  • You will see a message displayed on screen: support R0631M.
  • Now, press the right arrow key just before the system configuration menu.
  • Press the ok button.
  • Then you will see a hardware failure status.
  • And, in case, you don’t see the above option you can use the other arrow as shown:
  • Press and release the ok button.
  • Click on the ok button to clear the hardware failure status.
  • A message will display on your screen: cleared hardware failure status.
  • And, to proceed further, hit the cancel button.
  • Turn off the printer and remove any power supply.
  • You have to wait for a few seconds.
  • Reconnect all the power cables into your printer.
  • When the printer is powered back on, turn off the printer again using the power button.
  • When ink initialization starts, ensure that nothing disrupts the process.
  • The last and final step is to click the all-in-one-setup menu and scroll down the moose to select report option.

Step 2:

If you are on step 2, then we presume step 1 didn’t work. Here is what you can do. Follow these steps:

  • Any cable connected to the main power supply should be removed.
  • Now, wait for a few seconds before taking the next step.
  • You have to hold the print photo button and then cancel it at the same time.
  • Soon, you will notice that a blank screen is open.
  • If the screen persists, try two or three more times.
  • Move on to next method.

Step 3:

  • The first step is to cut off the main power supply for about 30 seconds.
  • You have to now plug in all the cables and wires into the main power supply.
  • You have to repeat both of the above steps two to three times.
  • Check whether your printer is working now.
