Printers are very useful devices that assist us at home or in a business setting. We use printers to print images, logos, documents, etc. Printers allow you to print images and documents in color, monochrome, or black/white. We can also personalize our printing process and streamline it for our office or backend staff. So, whenever a printer does not work, it leads to business downtimes and lags. We are unable to complete our printing tasks until our printer issues are resolved.
One reason for your printer failing to print could be damaged ink cartridges. In this article, we will teach you how to remove and install new ink cartridges and also how to check whether your ink levels are low. In particular, we will be focusing on the Canon range of ink cartridges.
Step 1:
- Turn your printer on.
- Now, you have to lift the cartridge access door and make sure that it sits exactly in the correct slots.
- Now carefully match the colors and icons on the cartridge with the slot having same icons and shapes in the slot.
- Press the cartridge sticking out.
- If the ink cartridge is not properly set, you need to readjust the cartridges accordingly.
Follow the steps below to readjust the cartridges:
- In the first step, you have to gently remove the cartridge.
- Bend the tab so that it turns away from the cartridge. But be careful not to apply more pressure than required on the tab.
- You might have to reinstall the cartridges again if they have not settled in the right place.
- Close the cartridge’s access door.
- Now, check the product control panel display.
- After performing these steps, if the error is fix then you are good!
- If the error is not fix, then you need to turn off the Canon printer.
- Wait for almost 30 seconds and then turn on your printer.
- If the same error persists, then you can try the next solution.
Step 2:
- Make sure the latch holding the printhead of the carriage is closed. An improperly raised latch can also result in an inappropriately placed cartridge which could lead to printing problems.
- To install the cartridges correctly, make sure the latch is down.
Step 3:
- Take a lint-free cloth and soaked it 40% with distilled water.
- Lift the carriage access door, set it in the place, and turn off your printer.
- You have to press the tab present on the front of the cartridge to release and remove it from the slot.
- Remove all dirt and debris from all electrical points of contact using a lint-free cloth.
- The cartridge should be properly reinstalled and it fits firmly in the slot.
- Close the access door of your Canon ink cartridge.
- Now press the Power button to turn off your Canon printer.
- Now, check the control panel of the printer.
CAUTION: Don’t expose the printer’s ink cartridges to any light source. Always keep the ink cartridge under wraps with a piece of paper. Using a dry, lint-free cloth, wipe any residue from the paper-path area and the print-cartridge cavity.
