Step 1: Type your printer model number, i.e. HP OfficeJet Pro 6978 in the Search Bar

Step 2. Click on the Install HP Easy Start button

When you click this button, the HP Easy Start.exe file will download to your computer. Now, go to Download and search for the latest download .exe file.

Driver conflict is the main reason behind printer malfunction of a newly installed printer. To solve this, we need to uninstall the installed HP OfficeJet Pro 6978 driver from your computer. Before uninstalling the driver, you need to disconnect the printer from the computer and any other connected device.

There are two types of uninstallation process:

Control panel uninstallation: Go to Control panel, and open Programs and Features. Next, select HP OfficeJet Pro 6978 printer and click Uninstall.
